Division of Respiratory Medicine
About the Division
The Division of Respiratory Medicine was developed by Dr. Gordon Pirie in the early ‘60s and he developed the Pulmonary Function Laborotory and assisted with the development of the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic. At that time, the Respiratory Service was closely tied to the Neonatal intensive Care Unit and subsequently the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. In the early ‘90s Dr. Pirie devoted his last few years to expanding the Respiratory Division which we hope will come to fruition as we have an opportunity to recruit new members to the division.
